Claranet awarded Best Newcomer by CyberFirst

This week Claranet was awarded Best Newcomer at the annual CyberFirst awards dinner for our efforts with the CyberFirst community over the last twelve months.

CyberFirst is a National Cyber Security Centre scheme to encourage young people into a cyber security career. The scheme runs a range of activities that include undergraduate bursary schemes, free places on CyberFirst courses at colleges and universities up and down the country, and a girls’ only competition, to name a few. All of with the aim to find, nurture and train talented individuals to be the future first line of defence in a CyberFirst world.

In 2023 Claranet joined CyberFirst, as part of ongoing partnerships with CREST and the National Cyber Security Centre, to help nurture the future workforce. The CyberFirst Best Newcomer award highlights our efforts having sponsored and attended several events and seminars over the last twelve months.

Our Cyber Security Practice Lead, and elected CREST council member, Jed Kafetz attended the CyberFirst awards dinner and accepted Claranet’s award. Jed Kafetz said:

CyberFirst is incredibly important, which is why we became involved and why it’s so great to be recognised this year.

Cyber security is a big part of our business and a big part of the future, for businesses and individuals. For our business to be able to support and nurture the next generation of cyber experts, encourage them into the industry, is a big thing. These young people, and the roles they’re going to one day have, will play a big part in our future."
